September 13, 2017 – Definition of “Firearm” Under the Gun Control Act
In this webinar, we focus on what constitutes a “firearm” under the Gun Control Act. The presentation includes discussion of “frame or receiver,” “firearm muffler or silencer,” “destructive device,” “antique firearm,” “rifle,” and “shotgun.” Also, we address the meaning of the term “weapon” and items that are not regulated under the statute because they fall outside this term. We conclude with unfinished items (e.g., “80 percent receivers”) and challenges in determining when they reach a stage of manufacture where they are regulated as “firearms” under the Gun Control Act.
Who should participate?
This webinar helps licensed manufacturers, licensed importers, and licensed dealers to assist in determining which items are controlled under the statute.
